Job Summary and Responsibilities

Are you a skilled and compassionate professional eager to make a significant impact on patient care? CHI St. Alexius Health is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Phlebotomist to join our team!

This unique role combines hands-on patient care with vital diagnostic responsibilities. Under the direction of licensed practitioners, you'll provide essential basic nursing care, assist with daily living activities, and perform accurate blood collection procedures for diverse patient groups. You'll also help organize the work environment to ensure efficient clinical workflow.

You'll actively participate in the nursing process, contributing to assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation through observation and communication. Your responsibilities include precise specimen handling, maintaining laboratory quality standards, documenting care, and supporting clerical functions like scheduling.

Job Requirements

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Licensure & Certifications:

  • Nurse Assistant Registry: Must be actively listed on a Nurse Assistant Registry operated by the North Dakota Board of Nursing, State Department and Consolidated Laboratories.
    • Note: If not currently on a registry, successful placement on a registry is required immediately following orientation and training provided by CHI St. Alexius Medical Center, as outlined in the "Eligibility for Employment as Nurse Assistant" policy.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification: Required upon hire. Only certifications from the American Heart Association (Basic Life Support) are accepted.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Phlebotomy certification or completion of a phlebotomy course.
