Responsibilities

CHI St. Alexius is looking for PRN Monitor Tech to join the team!

Assists in the delivery of patient care and performance of established tasks and procedures under the supervision of a physically present and immediately available Registered Nurse/ Hospital Provider.  Is held accountable for policies and procedures of the department and organization.  This position supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of CommonSpirit Health.

What You'll Do:

  • Must be able to perform the following tasks efficiently: perform/record vital signs, CPR, apply oxygen delivering systems, perform simple wound irrigation/direct pressure/dressings, prepare sterile field for suturing, assist provider with treatment when appropriate, apply restraints, clean medical equipment and prepare for sterilization, collect urine specimens, and phlebotomy
  • Reviews patient information to determine usual heart rhythm pattern, current pattern, and prior variances; observes screen of cardiac monitor and listens for alarm to identify abnormal variation in heart rhythm, and records, interprets, and documents rhythm strips every 8 hours and as needed
  • Under direction of appropriate directors; responsible for creating and maintaining schedules for Med Surg, ICU, and OB
  • Assists in making observations, gathering data, and identifying patient care needs
  • Assists with patient transports and transfers
  • Answer telephones, filing, greet patients/visitors, transcribe provider’s orders, electronic data entry, and assist with documentation
  • Assists with cleaning, stocking, and maintenance of department equipment and supplies
  • Practices safe work habits, compliance with safety rules and regulations, and adheres to safety policies
  • Utilizes resources appropriately and follows facility guidelines, policies, and procedures
