What You'll Be Doing (and Loving!):

  • The Go-To Guru:You're the ultimate resource, support system, and decision-maker for all clinical areas during your designated shifts. Think of yourself as the central nervous system of the hospital.
  • After-Hours Authority:When the execs go home, you're the face of leadership. You're the in-house administration, making critical calls on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strategic Navigator:You're not just reacting; you're proactively coordinating admissions, managing surges, and expertly orchestrating patient placement across the entire facility.
  • Crisis Commander:High-risk situations? You're there, leading the charge, providing direction, and ensuring swift, effective resolution. Patients and staff will look to you for guidance and a steady hand.
  • Team Empowerer:You'll collaborate with directors, optimize staffing, and ensure our clinical teams have the resources they need to shine. You're the communication bridge that keeps everyone connected and performing at their best.
  • Advocate Extraordinaire:For both patients and staff, you're their champion. You'll interpret policies, navigate tricky situations, and ensure our ethical standards are always upheld.

Job Requirements

Are You Our Next Superstar? (Here's What You'll Bring):

  • Brainpower & Credentials:A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or actively enrolled and completing it!) means you're building on a strong foundation.
  • License to Lead:Current RN licensure in North Dakota (or a compact state where you reside).
  • Life-Saving Certifications:BLS upon hire, plus ACLS, PALS, and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification to prove you're ready for anything.
  • Experience That Counts:3-5 years of hands-on clinical experience, so you've seen it all and know how to respond.

CHI St. Alexius Health is a regional health network with a tertiary hospital in Bismarck, the system also consists of critical access hospitals (CAHs) in Carrington, Dickinson, Devils Lake, Garrison, Turtle Lake, Washburn and Williston and numerous clinics and outpatient services.  CHI St. Alexius Health manages four CAHs in North Dakota - Elgin, Linton, and Wishek, as well as Mobridge Regional Medical Center in Mobridge, S.D. CHI St. Alexius Health offers a comprehensive line of inpatient and outpatient medical services, including: a Level II Trauma Center, primary and specialty physician clinics, home health and hospice services, durable medical equipment services, a fitness and human performance center and ancillary services throughout western and central North Dakota.
