EMR Process Improvement Coordinator
The posted compensation range of $15.51 - $20.74/hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Responsibilities
This is a supervisory position responsible for directing the overall functions of the Medical Records Department. Is responsible for process improvement efforts within SAHLC Medical Records department; participates in the budget process and monitors department expenses; management of staff including but not limited to API time and Attendance; development and maintenance of work schedules; employee issue resolution; staff development and retention. Is the Clinic’s electronic systems coordinator and security administrator on numerous e-systems. Maintains the integrity of all medical record information by demonstrating a cooperative effort throughout the Heart & Lung Clinic and St. Alexius Medical Center.
What You'll Do:
- Act as a role model through support of the Medical Center’s mission and values by promoting and enhancing the Journey beyond Excellence expectations.
- Collaborates with leadership to maintain staff by recruiting and selecting medical records staff while overseeing the orientation process.
- Maintains medical record staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Develops and adjusts daily work schedule to ensure all areas of the department are adequately staffed.
- Prepares paper charts for clinic visits and utilizes the Electronic Medical Record.
- Performs security auditing of Clinic electronic information systems and reports monthly report findings.
- Assures release of information policy and procedures are being adhered to within the department. Responsible for oversight of the clinic RAC audit releases and requests.
- Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.
Qualifications
Education: Associates Degree in Health Information Management or a related business degree and Workflow Redesign Specialist Certificate of Completion required.
Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience in a business environment, with at least two of those years being in the medical field.
