The posted compensation range of $52.09 - $72.11 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Clinical Pharmacist, you will help our doctors and nurses safely prescribe and dispense medications to help our patients feel better and recover from their illness or injury. Every day, you will build trust in these interactions by reviewing every prescription in your queue. We never rely entirely on the computer to check for safety; we always use an expert for the final check. That’s you. You will review prescriptions for potential drug interactions, correct dosing, patient allergies or anything that looks unusual in your opinion. To be successful in this role, you must enjoy learning new concepts and researching information in real-time to provide solutions for our patients. You should also continually look for ways to go above and beyond for your patients, delivering an exceptional experience along with exceptional care.
- Medication Order Processing & Dispensing: Interprets, verifies, and accurately processes medication orders for drug interactions and appropriateness, and dispenses medications in a timely manner
- Clinical Communication & Problem Solving: Communicates drug information to patients and healthcare professionals, clarifies unclear orders, and resolves drug-related problems through consultation to optimize patient outcomes
- Quality Assurance & Supervision: Verifies and checks medications prepared by other pharmacy personnel, and provides direction and guidance for technician activities
- Clinical Knowledge & Service Provision: Maintains comprehensive clinical knowledge for all age groups, provides clinical services according to policy, and keeps current with automated systems
- Training & Education: Participates in the orientation, instruction, and training of pharmacy students, interns, technicians, residents, and other health professionals, and may serve as a Residency Program Director or Coordinator
- Documentation & Regulatory Compliance: Documents clinical activities, patient teachings, and other patient-specific information as per policy, and performs duties in accordance with all regulatory and governing bodies
Required
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
- BLS-CPR
- Active State Pharmacist License in good standing in the state in which the employee works: PHARM:ND
- Must possess strong knowledge of Pharmacy Services; knowledgeable and skilled in current practice concepts of pharmacy practice settings; strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and professional standards; strong project management skills; good strategic planning skills; strong change management skills; must demonstrate personal traits of a high level of motivation; team orientation; professionalism; trust; and place a high value on treating others with dignity and respect.
