Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Health Unit Coordinator (HUC)/CNA, you will serve as the central administrative and communication hub for the nursing station, ensuring efficient patient flow and supportive operations.

Every day you will perform clerical/reception duties, manage supply/equipment requests, and handle pre-registration for patients during afterhours and weekends. You'll maintain records, check charts, and obtain documents. You will also answer call lights and incoming calls, directing them appropriately.

To be successful, you will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and rapid multitasking. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for interacting with patients, families, and the healthcare team, with a strong commitment to supporting patient care.

  • Serves as communications person, answering phone calls, taking and relaying messages
  • Receives and directs visitors and family members (must be an excellent customer service representative)
  • Monitors supplies throughout the departments
  • Assists in patient registration after normal business hours or when needed
  • Monitors the telemetry/cardiac monitor for arrhythmias and notify licensed nurse as indicated
  • Perform Electrocardiograms as ordered and also ADL's for patient care
Job Requirements

Required

  • Certified Nursing Assistant: MN, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days


Preferred

  • One to two years of Acute Care experience
