Staffing Specialist
The posted compensation range of $27.49 - $34.54 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Staffing Specialist, you will be responsible for optimizing staffing levels across departments, ensuring adequate coverage and operational efficiency.
Every day you will schedule personnel, process staffing requests, manage call-outs, and communicate effectively with staff and management regarding assignments and availability.
To be successful, you will demonstrate strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail in scheduling, and excellent communication, crucial for maintaining optimal workforce deployment and service continuity.
NURSING UNIT SCHEDULING
- Responsible for entering approved department schedules and ensuring that they are posted per union contract
timeframe. - Prepares daily staffing sheets and ascertain completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain awareness of the census and acuity of patients in the nursing areas.
- Responsible for staffing of patient care areas. Consults with Nurse Managers/designee in determining patient census and appropriate staffing needs. Communicates with float pool and registry personnel for scheduling purposes.
- Act as a liaison for "call in" personnel and make necessary calls for replacement staff.
- Prepares daily staffing projection to fax to the charge nurse of each unit for the oncoming shift.
- Prepares all necessary paperwork for the House Supervisor
- Maintains staffing changes in computer and all other documentation as received- MD notes, change slips, new hire information, termination information, licensure information, etc.
- Responsible for preparing a weekly staffing projection for all department managers.
- Responsible for appropriate filing of all documentation in the office
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Graduate/General Studies or two (2) years equivalent work experience or
- High School GED/General Studies or two years equivalent work experience and
- Previous Staffing/Time Management System experience
Special Skills
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal relations skills
- Ability to compile statistics and to maintain accurate and complete records and reports
- Previous Staffing/Time Management System experience
- Must have the ability to read write and speak English
Preferred:
- Experience in Microsoft Office.
