The posted compensation range of $24.00 - $29.90 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Monitor Tech, you will be responsible for continuous observation and analysis of patients' cardiac rhythms to detect and report changes.
Every day you will meticulously monitor EKG strips, identify arrhythmias, measure intervals, and promptly communicate critical findings to nursing staff and healthcare providers, ensuring accurate documentation.
To be successful, you will demonstrate sharp observational skills, a thorough understanding of cardiac rhythms, and the ability to act quickly and precisely under pressure, crucial for patient safety and timely intervention.
- PATIENT'S CHART:
- Prepares chart for admits.
- Prepares chart packets for unit use.
- Maintains chart in proper, complete order.
- Adds forms, as required.
- Places reports on charts.
- Reviews chart for signatures and completeness.
- Reviews orders for completion.
- Returns complete charts to medical records within 24 hours of patients discharge.
- Prepares chart and all thinned parts of chart to accompany patient for all internal transfers.
- REVIEWS PHYSICIAN'S ORDERS, FOLLOWING UP AS INDICATED:
- Enters orders via designated computer system.
- Notifies Licensed staff/Registered Nurse of new orders.
- Faxes medication orders to Pharmacy.
- COLLABORATES WITH NURSING PERSONNEL:
- Enters appropriate Intervention Order sets and interventions into Hospital Information System (HIS).
- Enters acuity data into HIS as indicated for unit.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Maintains a safe and clean environment.
- Complies with hospital dress code.
- Assists with orientation of new personnel as directed.
- Approach the work of the unit with initiative and self-direction.
- ACTS AS UNIT RECEPTIONIST:
- To assist physicians and visitors.
- Answers all telephone within the first three rings stating department, your name, and How may I help you'
- MAINTAINS RECORDS:
- Maintains and tracks all loose documents and maintains a record of same.
- KEEPS FLOOR CENSUS UP-TO-DATE VIA HIS:
- Enters transfers to unit into Admitting module of Hospital Information System (HIS) Enters discharge into Admitting module of HIS.
Job Requirements
Required
- High School GED or equivalent technical training, upon hire or
- High School Graduate or equivalent technical training, upon hire and
- Hospital/medical terminology experience and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
Preferred
- Acute care
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
