The posted compensation range of $26.76 - $39.81 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Health Educator Specialist you will provide health education classes to clients of the Community Wellness Program.
Every day you will be is responsible for instructing classes, presenting material, and leading workshops. You will be expected to assists with various screening activities, conduct evaluations and follow-up activities.
To be successful in this role, you will be responsible for increasing program visibility, enrolling participants, and establishing partnerships with community organizations.
Provide health education classes to clients of the Community Wellness Program
• Provide health education workshops and classes
• Complete required certification training to deliver Health Living workshops
• Maintain proficiency in health education topics delivered by the CWP
• Prepare education material and tools required to facilitate education classes
• Ensure participants complete sign-in sheets and evaluations for all workshops and classes
• Drives program visibility and meets enrollment goals through targeted outreach efforts
Provide health screenings to clients of the Community Wellness Program
• Prepare screening materials and supplies for use at health screening sites
• Assist clients with the completion of health screening forms
• Communicate health screening results to clients
• Conduct outreach to achieve health screening enrollment goals
• Manages the scheduling of screening appointments as needed and sends reminders through text or phone calls
• Assist with annual flu vaccine clinics
Develop and submit program reports
• Complete and submit reports and assignments by due dates
• Maintain database and spreadsheets for all health eduction activities
• Assist with updating program spreadsheets
• Assist with updating program and evaluation forms as needed
Job RequirementsMinimum Requirements:
- Associate Of Arts upon hire and 1-3 years in health education, community service, or social service
- High School GED upon hire and 4-6 years in health education, community service, or social service
- High School Graduate upon hire and 4-6 years in health education, community service, or social service
- Driver's License: CA (AUTO:CA)
- Auto Insurance (AUTO-INS)
- Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR) within 60 Days Required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish), with the ability to read, write and speak both languages
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelors Of Arts upon hire and 1-3 years in health education, community service, or social service
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
