The posted compensation range of $24.00 - $28.87 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Central Services Representative, you will be a central figure responsible for the meticulous acquisition, inventory, and distribution of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring clinical departments have necessary resources for optimal patient care. You will play a vital role in maintaining supply chain efficiency and supporting seamless clinical operations.
Every day, you will expertly receive, stock, and issue medical supplies and equipment, meticulously maintaining accurate inventory records, and preparing supply carts according to protocols. You will also monitor inventory, report discrepancies, collaborate with clinical staff and purchasing, and ensure strict adherence to storage guidelines and infection control practices.
To be successful in this role, you will combine exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail in inventory management, and a strong understanding of medical supply terminology. You will demonstrate a proactive approach to anticipating needs, excellent communication, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment providing crucial logistical support for high-quality patient care.
- Demonstrates an understanding of, and the ability to operate, department equipment. No more than 2 valid exceptions per years meets the standard
- Reports all repair needs to the appropriate resource immediately upon discovery
- Demonstrates the ability to safely operate steam and low temperature sterilization equipment. This includes performance of quality testing and completion of documentation
- Demonstrates the ability to safely use all decontamination equipment
- Demonstrates the ability to use all Materials Management software applications and handheld technology
- Demonstrates the ability to decontaminate, prepare, and sterilize all instrumentation and properly store patient care equipment.
- Performs inventory services for all assigned units and equipment. No more than 3 valid exceptions per year meets the standard.
- Produces an inventory picklist utilizing the designated Materials Management software application and handheld technology
- Accurately fills the inventory needs of assigned departments
- Demonstrates the ability to provide inventory and restocking of crash carts, urology carts, isolation carts, procedure carts, and other specialty carts.
- Demonstrates the ability to order, receive, and maintain product inventory. No more than three valid exceptions meets the standard
- Routinely monitors expiration dates for all products including stock and nonstock items
- Communicates immediately to the proper resource, any supply reorder needs
- Demonstrates the ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment for staff and supplies
- Demonstrates the ability to correctly identify, label, and stock inventory products. This includes proper stock rotation
- Demonstrates the ability to fill all phone, Order Entry, or Lawson requests in a timely and accurate manner
- Perfoms other related jobs as assigned.
- Works with department leadership to clarify project expectations
- Completes assignments within agreed timeframe
Job Requirements
Required
- High School Graduate General Studies or 2 yearsequivalent work experience., upon hire or
- High School GED General Studies or 2 yearsequivalent work experience., upon hire and
- Education or experience in Central Service and six months of experience insterile processing, upon hire
- Certified and Registered Central Service Technician, within 12 - months or
- Certified Sterile Processing and Dist Supervisor, within 12 - months or
- Certified Sterile Processing and Dist Tech, within 12 - months
