Job Summary and Responsibilities
The Cath Imaging Techonologist is a professional with advanced training in cardiovascular/interventional and special procedures. The Cath Imaging Technologist, under the general direction of the Nurse Director, shall perform professional functions involved in a variety of technical aspects.
- Technical Proficiency
- Assist the physician with positioning of the patient and adjustment of equipment.
- Knowledge of the proper set up and operation of the Intra Aortic Balloon Pump and Intravascular Ultrasound Equipment (IVUS).
- Maintains proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation. Identifies dysrhythmias and hemodynamic waveforms correctly.
- Recognizes abnormal & adverse cardiopulmonary and peripheral vascular symptoms and takes appropriate action.
- Possesses and demonstrates in depth knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral anatomy & physiology, and interventions.

- High School Graduate Education level necessary to obtain required licensure and certifications A minimum of one year Cardiac Catherization Technologist or Interventional Radiology , upon hire or
- High School GED, upon hire
- Medical Radiographer: CA, upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
- Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech: CA, upon hire and
- Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire or
- Registered Cardiac Electr, upon hire or
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, upon hire or
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, upon hire
