The posted compensation range of $49.78 - $74.05 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Speech Language Pathologist, you will be a vital clinician, expertly assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders to significantly improve patient quality of life.
Every day, you will conduct comprehensive evaluations for all referred patients, meticulously implementing individualized treatment plans. You'll contribute clinical expertise to develop/upgrade treatment programs/protocols, and actively shape departmental and organizational goals.
To be successful in this role, you will possess advanced clinical knowledge, exceptional diagnostic/therapeutic skills, and a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
- Under the direction of the department manager and upon appropriate physician referral, evaluates and treats patients to improve their functional status.
- Will work in outpatient, inpatient and/or transitional care center as directed by the manager.
- Speech pathologist will communicate with families, physicians, other health team members, and participates in meetings as needed. Scope of practice to be consistent with Federal and State standards, as well as, departmental policy and procedure.
- Reports to department manager for both clerical and patient care duties.
- Coordinates with other department members as directed by the department manager to optimize delivery of client services with available resources.
- Evaluates inpatients within 24 hours of physician referral, observing departmental hours of operation. Outpatient evaluation must be within 30 days from date of physician referral.
Required:
- Speech Language Pathologist: CA, upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
- Knowledge of SP assessment and treatment techniques
- Knowledge of SP and healthcare trends Clinical problem solving and analyses. Interpersonal and communication
- Plan, develop, implement rehab tests and problems. Documenation.
Preferred:
- Acute care, Rehab, SNF or OP experience
- Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology, upon hire
