The posted compensation range of $32.13 - $38.20 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Phlebotomist, you will competently collect blood and other patient specimens for diagnostic testing, ensuring comfort and safety.
Every day you will identify patients, explain procedures, proficiently perform venipunctures, and accurately label/prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, adhering to safety protocols.
To be successful, you will demonstrate exceptional technical proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills for accurate diagnostics and patient satisfaction.
- Coordinates processes of the Laboratory Phlebotomists.
- Responsible for obtaining blood, urine, and culture specimens from patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatric, according to established
procedures of Arroyo Grande Community Hospital and State and Federal Regulations. - Performs clerical functions and routine repetitive specimen testing under direct supervision of a licensed technologist.
- Proactively identifies all inpatients prior to specimen collection, using the electronic patient identification (PPID) system and by validating information on patient arm band with information on specimen label.
- Properly identifies each out-patient prior to specimen collection by matching information on outpatient slip with verbal communication with the patient or patient's guardian/guarantor.
- Must properly identify all specimens coming from outpatient clients by matching the information on the tube with that from
the laboratory requisition. Preparation of aliquots require revalidation of identifiers on label against the original specimen.
Required
- 3 years experience as a Certified Phlebotomist / Lab Assistant
- State of California Phlebotomist Certificate
