Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our EMT, you will perform essential general patient care, meticulously following established clinic workflows to ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery within an outpatient setting.
Every day you will complete comprehensive patient intake duties, including obtaining vital signs, verifying allergies and medications, and documenting reasons for visits. You'll also collect and prepare specimens, administer ordered medications and vaccines, clean and sterilize instruments, ensure exam room readiness, and meticulously complete safety checklists, escalating any non-routine issues promptly.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care, efficiency, and safety, adeptly managing all intake processes and supporting clinical operations. Your ability to meticulously follow protocols, maintain a clean and stocked environment, and proactively address concerns will be crucial for exceptional patient experiences.
- Accurately fills out test requisitions: checks off and indicate time ordered; prioritizes calls to ancillary departments to avoid "bottleneck" in E.D.
- Maintains the E.D. directional board.
- Prioritizes new and current patients for physician using Physician Triage Rack.
- Maintains yearly monitor tech certification. Mounts monitor strip on nurse's notes for all patients placed on a monitor. Notifies R.N. of changes on monitor.
- Displays professional phone protocol. Identifies department and name. Aware of legal limitations of role (does not take M.D. orders, never refuses E.R. treatment to caller). Uses courteous, respectful tone.
- Maintains E-log in Meditech and completes patient departure in Meditech.
Job Requirements
Required
- High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire or
- High School GED General Studies, upon hire
- Emergency Medical Technician: CA, upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
