Licensed Counselor
The posted compensation range of $25.18 - $36.52 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical intake assessments using ASAM criteria to determine the appropriate level of care
- Develop individualized, strengths-based treatment plans in collaboration with clients
- Provide weekly individual and group therapy using evidence-based approaches including CRA, CBT, and MI
- Facilitate specialized group sessions including parenting education, relapse prevention, and recovery-focused support
- Encourage 12-Step recovery participation and facilitate or refer to Al-Anon-informed groups
- Maintain clinical documentation (progress notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries) in compliance with Medicaid, NMAC, and regulatory standards
- Coordinate care with case managers, peer support specialists, and external community providers

Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related behavioral health fieldExperience:
Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in substance use, co-occurring disorders, or behavioral health treatmentLicensure:
LADAC or LSAA required
LPCC, LMSW, LMHC, or LISW in good standing with the New Mexico licensing boardKnowledge & Skills:
- Strong understanding of ASAM criteria and Medicaid documentation standards
- Proficient in clinical assessment, group facilitation, and trauma-informed care
- Collaborative and client-focused communication
Preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish); familiarity with parenting models and recovery-oriented frameworks
