Beth BurbridgeBeth Burbridge consistently demonstrates Acts of Humankindness and a close connection to the Mission, Vision, and Values of CommonSpirit Health. For this nomination, Beth goes above and beyond as an advocate for living organ donors and the support needed before, during, and after that process. Beth advocates in her local community and state, having successfully worked with lawmakers to create laws to protect donors. A quick Google search will result in numerous articles about her work. Beth advocates for employer support for living donors so they have adequate recovery time, limited financial impact, etc. This may help encourage potential donors to consider donation. The work also benefits organ recipients because more possible donors may consider donation. Beth has also presented to the US Congress to represent and advocate in this space. Beth is a prime example of 'living our mission.' |

LeAndra CollinsEveryday I see LeAndra going above and beyond to help her team and colleagues in various ways. She stays very involved with daily issues that her team comes across and ensures they get an answer on how to move forward. LeAndra gives so much of her time as well. She begins her day very early and remains engaged with the team until the early evening hours. She is patient and kind with every interaction she has with team members and other colleagues across CommonSpirit Health. She promotes and consistently reminds our team that we keep humankindness as the center of our service delivery model. As a result, team members are often called out by other employees regarding the exceptional service they received and they tell us that they didn't feel like just another transaction but rather treated like a person and their issue was important to us and that they were treated with kindness. I attribute this to LeAndra's commitment and demonstration of humankindness and strong belief in the work her team does to deliver an exceptional experience. |

Joyce DavisJoyce continues to lead and grow her team with grace, oneness and Humankindness. When Joyce leads her team and others, she incorporates kindness into every interaction and uses guiding principle of helping others before herself. When faced with tough decisions or interactions, Joyce perseveres in human kindness and her willingness to help where needed, picking up the pieces where needed and always willing to work together as a team. Joyce's ability to incorporate kindness with her team and others in each interaction has proven to have an impact on others. Joyce has been with the organization for 27 years and has a long-standing record of achievements as a leader with our organization. Joyce’s empathy, genuine interest in others' triumphs and their life experiences, along with being a great communicator, contributes to her being an excellent role model for her team and colleagues. Joyce’s My Team Culture score is 97.44, which exemplifies her extraordinary leadership style. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Joyce was particularly creative in motivating, supporting and helping her staff through those difficult times. She held Zoom calls for her team that focused on self-care, stress management, and how to navigate difficult situations. She has conducted numerous team-building exercises that contributes to her team's motivation. By being an excellent listener, Joyce absorbs details of the people she interacts with and will purposefully tie Christmas or "just because" gifts to something she remembered about a certain individual. Because of her attitude of kindness, she has inspired her team to volunteer, conduct fundraising activities and other philanthropic activities, which obviously connects with our mission at CommonSpirit Health. From my own personal experience, she was so thoughtful and checked in with me numerous times when my dad was going through major surgery for cancer, including asking if I was okay—knowing that adult children often carry stress, anxiety and worry without showing it to the world. Another recent example of Joyce displaying humankindness is when we were on a call together with another colleague. She noticed that the person "seemed off." After the call, she reached out to the individual to see if she was okay. As it turns out, that this colleague had just been through a very traumatic experience with her family that day. I am certain that Joyce's thoughtfulness and kindness made a difference in that person's day for sure. Joyce's contributions to CommonSpirit Health are immeasurable and her day-to-day actions guided by compassion and kindness are the epitome of our mission, vision and core values as well as our tag line "Hello Humankindness.” |
