The posted compensation range of $43.10 - $64.11 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
***This position is remote, but will be expected to work Central, Mountain or Pacific business hours.
As a Business Intelligence Developer II, you'll play a crucial role in empowering our Population Health Services Organization (PHSO) with data-driven insights. You will design, build, and maintain reports and data warehouses that track key performance indicators and ensure we meet all regulatory reporting needs.
This advanced position involves developing computer-based analytics solutions for our financial, clinical, and operational initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining BI Solutions: Creating and supporting custom and third-party business intelligence applications, including troubleshooting, upgrades, and training end-users.
- Data Extraction and Reporting: Fulfilling data requests, extracting data from various sources, validating its accuracy, formatting it for stakeholders, and developing custom reports. You'll also provide report writing support and training.
- Data Warehouse Management: Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining data warehouses, including creating stored procedures, custom views, and automated jobs. You'll drive data quality improvements using Python-based automation, testing, and monitoring.
- Database Performance and Administration: Performing routine database maintenance, managing automated jobs, and assisting with company-wide data warehouse validation and OLAP cube population.
- EDI Support: Providing ongoing support for electronic data interchange (EDI) solutions, ensuring accurate and timely data transfer, resolving errors, and developing/modifying EDI transactions while maintaining compliance.

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of industry experience working in a role requiring knowledge and management of business intelligence concepts and processes is required.
- Experience in design, development, testing, documentation, implementation and maintainence of data warehouses and reports.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and third-party reporting tools such as Crystal Reports, Business Objects, or Cognos, and/or ETL tools such as Microsoft SSIS or BizTalk, and/or relational database management systems such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL.
- Experience with at least one major BI tool (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and ability to develop advanced dashboards and reports.
- Associate of Arts degree required with coursework including, but not limited to, database modeling, design, and querying, business information systems, business statistics, e-commerce systems, or related course.
- Advanced knowledge of data governance, data management, data modeling, data cleansing, data extraction and transformation, data migration, data integration and data mapping.
- Advanced knowledge of standard HIPAA EDI transaction sets and secure communications. Ablity to write advanced SQL statements to generate proper data extracts and training end users on 3rd- party OLAP tools. Ensures EDI policies and procedures comply with corporate policies and objectives.
- Advanced understanding of theoretical and practical aspects of data information systems: Spreadsheet manipulation, management, and reporting Database structure and design Database querying, ETL, index management, and SQL performance tuning and monitoring Installation, implementation, integration, training, and support for custom and third-party software solutions.
- Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, analysis, and scripting tasks.
- Advanced skills in SQL for complex queries and database management.
- Understanding of data modeling principles and experience in designing data models. Knowledge of ETL processes and tools for data integration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the healthcare industry strongly preferred.
- Experience with population health, value-based care preferred.
- 5 years of experience for additional software such as SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Python, Snowflake is preferred.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, mathematics, management information systems, or a closely related field preferred.
- 2-5 years advanced coursework in Python programming, data analysis, and database management preferred.
- Professional experience in BI development or related roles, including Python scripting preferred.
